You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure. For more information, click Related Topics.

1.Open Printers and Faxes

2.Right-click the printer for which you want to change drivers, and then click Properties.

3.On the Advanced tab, click New Driver to install a new or updated version of the printer driver using the Add Printer Driver Wizard.

4.Click Next, and then do one of the following:

•Click the appropriate printer manufacturer and printer model if the new or updated driver is on the list.
•Click Have Disk if the printer driver is not included in the list or if you have received a new or updated driver on CD or diskette from the printer manufacturer, type the path where the driver is located, and then click OK.

5.Click Next, and then follow the instructions on the screen to finish installing the printer driver.

•To open Printers and Faxes, click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Printers and Faxes.

•You can also open printer properties in Printers and Faxes by clicking a printer, and then clicking Set printer properties under Tasks on the left side of the window. This option is available only if folders are set to look like a Web page and a printer is selected. For more information, click Related Topics.

•When using Windows XP Professional, you may be able to install new or updated printer drivers when logged on as a member of the Power Users group, depending on the components required by the printer driver.

•If the printer driver you want to use already exists on the print server, you can install it by selecting it from the Driver list.

The following steps how to troubleshoot common problems with your Samsung printer.

1. Overall poor print quality: Clean the print heads with a little rubbing alcohol.

2. Colored or black background on your paper: Use a lighter-weight paper or replace the toner cartridge.

3. Spots on the printed paper: Check to see if rollers within the printer are dirty, have small pieces of paper stuck to them or need to be replaced.

4. Horizontal striping: Check to see if the toner cartridge is installed properly.

5. Vertical white lines: Check for a dirty lens, toner cartridge window or drum.

6. Horizontal black bands: Replace the contacts on the toner cartridge terminals or the cartridge rollers.

1. Acquire the Mac printer driver either by downloading it or getting it on CD. Most printers come with the drivers needed to run the printer. You can also check the printer manufacturer's website to get the correct drivers.

2. Be sure that your printer is connected to your Mac and turned on. Reboot your computer if you connected the printer after your last reboot.

3. Double click on the .dmg or installer file for the driver. If you got the software on CD instead of downloading it, load the CD into your Mac and then double click on the .dmg file. This is called "unpacking" the software.

4. "Mount" the printer driver by copying the files to your hard drive. To do this, just drag and drop the files into the folder where you want to save your software. The Mac will then copy the files to the location you specified.

5. Follow any further instructions the installation software gives you to complete the installation process.

6. "Eject" the .dmg or installer file. To do this, drag the file from your desktop into the trash can.

7. Open the Print Center on your Mac and then click the "ALT" key and "Add" at the same time. You should see a list of printers that includes the one you are installing. Choose this printer and click the "Add" button in the dialog box.

8. Reboot your computer if you do not see the printer on the list. Be sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Mac first.

9. Your printer might already be on the printer list before you install the manufacturer software. If this is the case, remove it from the printer list before you install the software. Then add the printer back to the list.

Follow few step by step instructions

1. Insert the CD that comes with the wireless HP printer into any computer that will use the printer. This will allow to setup the initial software and allow you to configure the initial network settings.

2. Choose where to install the software and which components of the software to install. Typical components for HP printers include the network utility and project creation software. If you already have software for project creation, you don't need to install this. You won't need to install either component for other computers in order to use the printer.

3. Turn on the HP printer when prompted. Don't connect it to a computer unless directed by the software. If the printer isn't recognized by the software, you may be asked to temporarily connect it via a provided USB cable.

4. Choose a printer name and an IP address. The IP address can be dynamic or you can create a static IP address. For larger networks, dedicate a static IP address or allow the HP software to choose a static IP for you to prevent conflicts on your network.

5. Press "Continue" to complete the wireless HP printer installation. The entire process can take up to 30 minutes if you install all software components.

6. Install the printer on other computers by going to "Start -- Printers and Faxes -- Add a Printer." Choose "A Network Printer" to view a list of network printers. Choose the printer name from Step 4 to install and access the wireless printer.

Printer Installation is very easy to every one but some time if you lost your printer driver CD. The question arises in every people mind that how to install printer with out installation CD. Printer Installation Without CD is not a difficult task. Just follow some simple instructions and the printer can be installed.

1. Place the computer and printer next to each other and make sure that all the wires are connected to both the printer and the computer.

2. Turn the computer on and wait for it to boot up.

3. Plug the printer into the wall and then take the USB cord that is attached to the printer and plug it into the appropriate port on the computer.

4. Turn the printer on.

6. Find "Printers and hardware" box and click on it.

7. Take mouse and click "Add printer".

8. When you see "Welcome to the add printer wizard," hit "Next."

9. Click "Automatically detect and install plug and play printer" on the add printer wizard page. Click "Next."

10. Installing the printer will begin if the network can automatically detect it. Otherwise, the message unable to detect will pop up and you will be prompted to install the printer manually. Click "Next."

11. Select printer port. Use the recommended port for best set up options. Click "Next."

12. Pick manufacturer and printer. Click "Next."

13. Type a name or confirm name if it appears in the box and set printer as default printer if wish. Click "Next."

14. Print a test page to be sure printer is set up and online. Click "Next."

15. Receive a successful completion of installation of printer message. Click "Finish."
