In these days, printers are not only an important component in office but it is also hugely used for personal printing purposes as well. Students use printers for printing their projects and for other important tasks as well. But whatever brand you are using, printer problem is a very common issue. There are different types of errors and their solution is also different. Sometimes the problems are so critical that we need to consult experts for tech support. Printer driver problem is also a common issue. If the printer is outdated, you need to update it. All printer problems come with different error code. Before discussing the issue, let's have a look what exactly printer error code is. When there is a problem in the printer, it will output an error code. The problem with these error codes is that they are cryptic. If you get printer error code message, it doesn't mean that always the problem is very critical. Sometimes, these error codes come to let you know that the printer requires some attention and there is a problem which needs to be resolved. Generally, Printers comes with the error code 60 and up. Following are the tips to solve problem 79 XXXX or 79 and 80:

• If get any such error code after giving print request to the computer, press cancel job to clear the print job from the memory.

• Turn the printer off and then turn on the printer.

• Try to print a job from a different application. If it works then the problem is with the particular application and it is suggested to talk to the vendor.

• If the problem occurs with all the applications then disconnect all the cable and reconnect it once again to the printer.

• Turn the printer off

• Remove all third party memory Dimms from the printer. Remember do not remove the firmware DIMM which is in the lowest DIMM slot.

• Remove EIO devices from the printer.

• Turn the printer ON.

• Now if the problem exists then put the DIMM and the Eio device one by one and then turn on the printer.

• After that if you think, one of the Eio device or DIMM is causing the error then remove that particular one.

• Connect the printer with all the cables and then to the Network.

• At last, if it does not work then replace the Firmware DIMM and the Formatter.

• The problem could be for the I/O device as well. So remove all the external I/O devices like (Jet direct, memory) and see if the problem persists. If yes, then also remove the formatter.

If the above mentioned steps are followed properly, then the printer problem should get resolved. If not, it is suggested to get in touch with computer help providers who are experienced in dealing with printer problems. They will guide you how to troubleshoot the problem.
