Printer jam

This is one of the most common problems associated with the printers. Not only printers from Canon but all the printers have these problems sometime or the other. There are various reasons behind this problem. One of the most probable reasons is accumulation of dust. The other reason can also be use of low quality of paper. Sometimes paper jamming also occur due to the wearing out of the rollers. The solution to these types of problems is get your printers cleaned regularly and change the components after a particular period of time.

Driver Problems

The other common problem is the driver error. Many times a message appears on your system saying, "Cannot find the driver for the operating system". This problem occurs because the new operating system needs new drivers instead of the old ones. This is basically a software problem and is not the problem of the printer. For solving this problem all you have to do is load the new software that is compatible with the new operating system.

No Print

Many times it happens that when you give the command for print, there is no printout. The paper goes inside but nothing is printed upon it when it comes out. It is absolutely the same as when it had gone inside. The reason for this kind of a problem is mostly that the cartridge must be empty. The solution to this problem is that get your cartridges refilled or get a brand new cartridge. Another reason for this problem is that the cartridge head might be clogged. You can easily unclog your cartridge head with the help of the tools provided with the printer. Most of the times the error message that appears in case of such kinds of problems tells exactly what have gone wrong with the printer.

Ink Cartridge problem

Replacing the empty cartridges is always expensive. It is always a better idea to get it refilled. Many a time the Canon printer that you are using will not recognize a cartridge manufactured by a different company.

Therefore avoid using a cartridge from a different brand than your printer.
